As Managing Director of Sporting Scholarships USA, John Sparks is responsible for recruiting both male and female soccer players and golfers of requisite quality to make an impact on pitches and courses at universities and colleges throughout the USA.

 

Thereafter, these athletes are promoted to all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA  coaches in the USA so that their aspiration to gain a scholarship at one of these educational institutions is met. 

 

John is a qualified 1st4sport Level One Coach, former Press Officer for the Royal Air Force Football Association, former Club Captain at Greetham Valley Golf Club, Rutland, where he served 6 years as President.

 

Having gained a BA (Hons) in History and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, John began his career in teaching before gaining valuable sales and marketing experience with Scottish & Newcastle Breweries, Pernod (UK) Ltd and L’Oreal (UK).

 

He then embarked on a successful third career as a Royal Air Force officer, spent mostly as a Flight Commander responsible for the recruitment and graduation of 2,500+ potential junior officers at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell.

 

From 2009 until 2014, prior to launching Sporting Scholarships USA Ltd, he worked as marketing consultant for a highly regarded sports scholarship company and placed more than 400 athletes in the USA on academic and sports scholarships. One of his own sons, Billy, has progressed through the whole system in the USA since 2009. He has gained a BSc Hons Degree in Sports Management & Exercise Science, achieved two Masters degrees (MBA and MEd) whilst serving as an Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach in North Carolina and Mississippi.

 

This combination of experience as a hands-on consultant and parent has been immensely beneficial in John’s record of successfully placing athletes at the universities and colleges that suit their sporting and academic abilities best.
